Gotham Knights postponed to 2022

Gotham Knights was postponed until 2022. WB Games. Montreal’s cooperative Batman game was originally due to be released this year, but that will no longer be the case. According to a statement released on Gotham Knights’ official Twitter account, the team says the title will be released worldwide in 2022. It says the delay is so that the team has “more time to offer the best possible experience to players”.

This is the latest in a series of new game delays announced in 2021.

Gotham Knights is a cooperative version of Batman’s open-world action game. Players can choose to play as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood, each with their own style of play. Gotham Knights supports two-player co-op, so an online friend can join you in an open world Gotham City.

The reason players will face one of Batman’s trusted allies instead of the Dark Knight himself is because in Gotham Knights Batman is dead. Or at least that’s how the game starts.Gotham City itself will be a real open world and director Patrick Redding says there will be no level block. Thus, players can roam freely around the city as they wish, swinging through buildings or in a bat cycle.

Gotham Knights is just the last major video game release originally scheduled for 2021 to be delayed. Other titles include Hogwarts Legacy, which has been postponed to 2022, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Gran Turismo 7, Vampire: The Mask – Bloodlines 2 and more.
