Tessica Brown, a woman who went viral after applying Gorilla Glue adhesive spray to her hair, underwent a procedure to rescue what’s left and finally ended the ordeal, which arrested people online.
The 40-year-old woman, who shared her unhappy situation at TikTok, underwent four-hour surgery in Los Angeles, where the patch was removed, according to TMZ, which had exclusive access to photos and videos of the surgery. More than a month passed after she initially styled her hair into an elegant ponytail.
Before the surgery, Brown cut the ponytail extension at the root, leaving the base of the hair that remained glued. The surgery was performed by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng, who offered to do the procedure for free, TMZ reported.
Obeng did not see any immediate damage to her scalp, but told Brown in the TMZ video that she would be sensitive and gave her a dose of steroid to minimize inflammation.
After the procedure, Brown was captured by TMZ cameras reaching her scalp and running her fingers through her hair while expressing relief.
“Jesus Christ, I can itch,” said Brown in the video. Later, she joked that she needed to get her hair done in time for Valentine’s Day.
In an interview with TMZ, Obeng explained that the formula he used to remove the tough patch from Brown’s hair included a medical grade patch remover, acetone and more natural solutions like aloe vera and olive oil.
“The surgery went well, she had a lot of irritation on her scalp, especially on the ends of her hair, on her head because of all the chemicals she put in and the hair was really, really hard, really, really tangled and she wouldn’t get up . She is very lucky that she has not suffered many injuries to her scalp, ”said Obeng.
“She has been through a lot. I hope you learn from Tessica’s injuries or Tessica’s ordeal, make sure that whenever you pick up something, read it, ”he added. BuzzFeed News contacted Brown and Obeng for comment.

Gorilla Glue manufacturers issued a statement of support for Brown after pressure increased.
“We are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced while using our spray patch on her hair,” wrote the company on Twitter. “We are happy to see in your recent video that Ms. Brown received medical treatment from your local medical center and we wish her the best.”
