Google sends Wear OS satisfaction survey

After closing the acquisition of Fitbit last week, Google now has two smartwatch platforms. While the timing may be purely coincidental, the Wear OS app today launched a survey asking users about their satisfaction with Wear OS.

Earlier today, the Android companion client sent a “Help us improve Wear OS by Google?” notification. One touch opened the application and a sheet appeared asking: “In general, how satisfied are you with your smartwatch?” Five options were presented, with Google inviting users to participate in a study. In that case, you have been directed to a Google Form.

Unfortunately, those who activated the dark theme on their phones were unable to complete the questionnaire easily, as the black text was displayed against a gray background. This is quickly resolved by turning off night mode, but some were unable to do so before it disappeared.

For those who did not receive the Wear OS survey or were unable to access it, we have replicated it below:

As a company, Google takes advantage of user feedback and other metrics to shape its products. The timing of the Fitbit acquisition last week is probably a coincidence. Last February, the Google User Experience Research program sent out a survey asking what health resources users are interested in, to probably help prioritize development.

Elsewhere, Google and watchmakers are currently releasing an update of the H-MR2 with a focus on “more intuitive controls” and speed improvements. A new weather pack and fitness tracking updates were also launched in November.
