Google returns to update the main iOS applications after a long wait of months

Google has left many of its iOS apps without updates since the beginning of December, raising questions and even creating problems – users quickly saw “this app is out of date” errors when signing into their Google accounts. This drought is finally coming to an end, however. How 9to5Google reports, Google has finally resumed the update of its main iOS apps with a YouTube review. Although it is ‘just’ a bug fix, it suggests that Gmail and other apps may receive updates soon.

It is not known for sure what motivated the long wait. Some suggested that Google objected to Apple’s app privacy nutrition labels, but the company did not object. He promised to add privacy details as he updated iOS apps and silently updated low-profile YouTube apps (Music, Studio and TV) in early February. We asked Google for a comment.

There is some pressure to update other applications soon. While Google may send some resources via server and web updates, applications like Chrome can be vulnerable to security issues if they are not fixed. There is also a chance of future technical problems. If the YouTube fix is the start of a bigger wave of updates, it can provide relief to iPhone and iPad users who rely heavily on Google services.
