The Google Stadia team will add more than 100 games to its cloud gaming service this year, a new post on its community blog revealed. In the post, the team highlighted nine of the titles that will come into service in the near future, including FIFA 21 (March 17) and detective / action RPG title Judgment (April 23) by the studio behind the Yakuza franchise.
Wayforward action platforms Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition and Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – director’s version will also be available to play on February 23. Risky’s Revenge was originally released for DSi in 2010, and Director’s Cut with enhanced features was released for Windows in 2014. In the meantime, Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition is Shantae’s first full HD belly dance adventure.
Triangle Studios’ Came from space and ate our brains is a top-down shooter with brain-eating aliens invading Earth. It has a campaign mode that can accommodate up to four local players and will be available on March 2nd. Kaze and the wild masks, a side-scroller with classic 90s platform elements and modern-looking pixel art graphics, will arrive on March 26. The team also highlighted three games with no release dates, starting with the strategic team platform game Killer Queen Black. Street Power Football, an arcade-style football game will also be available, as well as a sci-fi action RPG Hellpoint.
Stadia’s announcement came shortly after Google closed Stadia game studios in Montreal and Los Angeles due to the company’s decision to abandon development of original games. Stadia Vice President Phil Harrison said at the time that Google believes bringing third-party games to the platform is the “best way to build [the service] into a long-term sustainable business. “One of those games was to be Terraria, but Stadia’s launch of the sandbox game was canceled after its co-creator’s Google accounts were suspended.
