Google fixes the “Can’t reach Google” bug on smart monitors and Android phones

Google fixes the “Can’t reach Google” bug on smart monitors and Android phones

December 26, 2020 14:02 by NewsDesk

Google users worldwide found a bug when accessing Google Assistant last week. The bug prevented users from accessing Google Assistant not just on Android smartphones. Now, the word is that Google fixed this bug.

For those of you who are not sure what exactly happened, here is a brief summary: during the past week, some Google Assistant users have been unable to access the virtual assistant on their devices.

In the case of smart monitors, both Nest devices and third-party devices, users were unable to ignore the white boot screen. According to a report by 9To5 Google, smart screen users reported seeing the four points of the Google Assistant spinning nonstop. Users of smart speakers with Google Assistant, on the other hand, reported that the speaker said “something went wrong” or “there is a failure”, which rendered all these devices useless.

Likewise, the smartphone app on Android and iOS continued to show the message “I can’t access Google right now. The report said that while some users could have their voice transcribed, others could not.

What was worrying was neither uninstalling the latest update in the case of the mobile app, nor resetting the hardware in case smart speakers and smart monitors seem to help. This, according to the report, was due to problems with the Google Account. Google, according to a message on its community forum earlier today, was aware of the problem and was working to fix it.

Now, they say the company fixed the problem. While for most users the problem was fixed automatically, others received a call from Google Nest with a code to mark the feedback.
