Google expands Moncks Corner, South Carolina, data center

Google plans to further expand its data center operations at Mount Holly Commerce Park in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The expansion is projected to bring more than $ 500 million in capital investment to Berkeley County.

“Google is proud to have Berkeley County as its home for more than a decade. Our additional $ 500 million investment in the state raises our total investment in South Carolina to $ 2.9 billion. We look forward to continuing to make an impact, ”said Lilyn Hester, head of Google’s Southeast Public Relations.

The company established operations in South Carolina in 2007, and this expansion brings the company’s total investment in the state to $ 2.9 billion.

“When a company like Google decides not only to settle in South Carolina, but also builds on that, it sends a message to the whole world that Palmetto’s state is open for business. The commitment that this $ 500 million investment represents is extremely important for our state and we couldn’t be more excited about Google and what the future holds, ”added Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt.
