Since 2018, it provides detailed overviews of the main topics and ongoing stories through a resource. It includes the main local news headlines, along with the context, such as explainers, interviews and detailed reports on topics like COVID-19 and the elections in the United States. Google is now adding full coverage to the search.
It is based on news results that are already displayed in Search. you can access the Full Coverage page for that topic (if any) by scrolling to the end of the main news or by tapping the “More news about …” link below the carousel.
Except for local headlines, Full Coverage includes the same combination of stories and information for everyone, instead of personalizing them. Google says it has updated its technology to identify key stories and events that take place over several days, such as the Super Bowl, and those that last for a much longer period, such as the pandemic.
Full search coverage will initially be available on mobile devices in the United States for those using Google in English. The company plans to expand the feature to more languages and regions in the coming months.
