Google and Microsoft among corporate donors for the possession of Biden

Alphabet Inc. and Microsoft Corp. it is among more than 960 organizations and individuals who donated more than $ 200 for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, according to a list released by the event’s organizing committee.

The committee did not list individual totals or provide additional details about donations.

Other companies that donated include Qualcomm Inc., cable providers Comcast Corp. and Charter Communications Inc., Boeing Co. and insurance company Anthem Inc. The Inaugural Presidential Committee also received donations from the American Federation of Teachers and United Food and Commercial Workers.

Notable individuals who donated include former California senator Barbara Boxer and singer Barbra Streisand.

For individuals, the inaugural committee provided only the state where the individuals live. You will have to report detailed information about donor employers and addresses to the Federal Election Commission on April 15.

The inauguration, which had already been drastically reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be held under strong security. Just days after supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building in a riot that left five dead, including police.

In his last message before Twitter banned Trump, he said he would not attend. Vice President Mike Pence will break with the president and attend, however, said two people familiar with his plans.

Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris asked the Americans to stay home on January 20 and virtually mark their inauguration.

After consulting public health officials, the Inaugural Presidential Committee said it would not hold the traditional mass meeting at the National Mall. The committee also announced that the traditional parade after the opening of the Capitol to the White House will be “reimagined”. Few details about the day were released, including how Biden will make his inaugural speech.
