Golf travels back to South Carolina for the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, SC – Temple Golf returns to South Carolina for its second tournament of the season, this time to compete at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate from March 8-9. The event will take place at the Palmetto Golf Club, on a par 70 course of 6,617 yards. The 18-team tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and will end with 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will start with shotgun starts.

Preview of owls
> Temple, which has been struggling to get time to practice on a course due to the weather this winter, will try to improve its 16th place display at Pinnacle Back Intercollegiate two weeks ago.
> Junior Conor McGrath led Owls in the opening tournament of the season, firing a 10-over 226 to tie for 42nd.
> McGrath will enter the initial lineup of Temple by the senior Dawson Anders (228), senior transfer Peter Bradbeer (228), second year Graham Chase (241) and junior Buddy Hansen, who is doing it will debut in 2021.
> Anders, who has traditionally played well here, led Temple last season at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate with a 2-under 208 in his best three-round tournament of his career. His last round of 67 drew the best of the season and was two strokes from his career mark, a set of 65 at the 2018 Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.

The field
> Clemson, ranked 8th in the last Coach Poll, will defend his 2020 title in the 15-team field organized by South Carolina-Aiken.
> In addition to Clemson and South Carolina-Aiken, the other teams on the field are Army West Point, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Francis Marion, Furman, High Point, North Carolina Wilmington, Presbyterian, Samford, VCU, Winthrop and Wofford.
> The Owls will kick off at 8am on Monday morning and will team up with Francis Marion and South Carolina-Aiken.
