GoldenEye 007 XBLA remastering leaks canceled online • Eurogamer.net

I was waiting for you.

The canceled GoldenEye 007 XBLA remastered leaked online.

The remastered, which we reported over the weekend after a full game was posted on YouTube, is now available for download and playback through an emulator.

John Linneman of Digital Foundry has verified that the game can be played. It runs at smooth 60FPS and you can switch between old and new graphics at any time. Watch him play in the video below:

In 2007, Microsoft-owned Rare developed an HD remaster of its classic N64 to be released on the XBLA, but copyright disputes saw the project closed.

Perhaps aware of the nature of the game’s ending, the image below is seen when you start the game:

Will Microsoft instruct Rare to take off its GoldenEye remastering? It seems unlikely. “GoldenEye rights are so challenging, seen this many times”, Xbox boss Phil Spencer tweeted in 2015. “Many different parties to work with, we always give up.”
