The 2021 Golden Globe started, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as hosts for the fourth time. Rosamund Pike, from I Care a Lot, won the best actress (musical or comedy), and Jason Sudeikis, from Ted Lasso, won the best actor in a TV series (musical or comedy). Best TV series winner (drama) The crown saw Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor winning the Globes’ first victories as Princess Diana and Prince Charles, respectively. The Chicago Trial 7 saw Aaron Sorkin win the best script.

There have already been technical difficulties, with the night’s first winner Daniel Kaluuya on the mute during his acceptance speech, and Catherine O’Hara’s Schitt’s Creek experiencing background noise during hers. Fortunately, Mark Ruffalo and John Boyega’s audio worked perfectly when they accepted acting awards for TV performances.

The best movie and TV categories are filled with Netflix titles, including Mank and The crown, who lead the general nominations with six each. Big success The Queen’s Gambit is competing for two awards: Best actress (limited series) for Anya Taylor-Joy and best limited series. We are following the live show and will update this post when the winners are announced.
