Drew McIntyre may be out of action after a positive COVID-19 test, but the WWE champion is still set to defend his title against Goldberg at the Royal Rumble.
The last outbreak of COVID-19 in WWE fortunately did not affect the best games on the Royal Rumble card. WWE continued to prepare for the WWE Championship match on TV and on all social media platforms.
The head of WWE Instagram posted a photo of Goldberg with the WWE Championship to assess fan reactions.
The following caption accompanies the photo: Could you be the NEXT one for @ goldberg95 in #RoyalRumble?
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that most fans don’t want to see Goldberg with the WWE championship. Almost all comments are against the idea of seeing Goldberg win the big gold belt. Drew McIntyre reacted to the post by stating that he was only there for the comments. You can check the IG post and your comments yourself below:
The WWE championship rivalry for Royal Rumble

The story between Goldberg and Drew McIntyre started at the end of Monday Night’s Legends Night episode. The former WCW champion appeared after McIntyre’s fight with Keith Lee and launched a challenge to the WWE champion.
Last week’s episode came to a bizarre end, as Goldberg provided a strange reason for his motivations to face Drew McIntyre. Superstars went head-to-head before the show went off the air.
Drew McIntyre’s positive test for COVID-19 before this week’s RAW threatened to sabotage all of WWE’s elaborate plans. Despite being quarantined, the Scottish Warrior appeared on RAW in two video segments. He first addressed the fans and provided a health update. In the second segment, Drew McIntyre accepted Goldberg’s challenge, and the fight was officially scheduled for the Royal Rumble PPV.
The belief is that Goldberg and McIntyre will not be involved in a long fight, which ideally should end with the triumphant retention of the WWE title for the Scottish Superstar. However, WWE has taken many huge turns with Goldberg in the past, and it could happen again. Will Goldberg make history by becoming the new WWE champion at the Royal Rumble?
