ROCK HILL, SC (CN2 NEWS) – The Tega Cay Police Department sponsors its annual “polar dive” event – a state fundraiser through law enforcement to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Those who participated had the chance to collect donations for the Special Olympics, diving or even participating in an ice bucket challenge. Among them, Gold Hill Middle School in Fort Mill raised most of the money.
The school’s leaders say they have managed to raise more than $ 12,000. Those with the South Carolina Special Olympics taking the time to honor Gold Hill Middle with a trophy this Friday.
Upon receiving the trophy, 2 special education classes went out to celebrate.
