GoFundMe set to cover funeral expenses for shooting victim in mall, second victim outside hospital

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WBAY) – More than 24 hours after a firefight at Fox River Mall left one person dead and another injured, police continue to search for 17-year-old Dezman Ellis, who is suspected of shooting and killing 19 Jovanni Frausto, a year old. age, in a targeted attack in the main aisle of the mall around 3:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.

That search is ongoing, although a car connected to the incident was found in an Oshkosh home on Monday. The vehicle was found parked at the entrance to a house on 20th Avenue in Oshkosh.

Soon after, Action 2 News cameras caught several people, who the police say are between 15 and 37 years old, being arrested. However, Ellis was not among them, and the police would not say what his connection to the house is.

“When the police were inside the residence, completing an investigation, four individuals became physically combative with the police,” said Oshkosh police officer Kate Mann.

Police say the vehicle was seized as evidence.

“This was a targeted incident and not just a random act of violence at Fox River Mall, very targeted. And we are working with a variety of resources and investigators are actively following the clues right now, ”said police officer Travis Waas of Grand Chute.

The other victim shot on Sunday, Colt Lemmers, left the hospital.

Action 2 News has been informed that he is recovering at home.

Ashlie Duchateau, who saw the shooting, spoke to Action 2 News.

She said there was a moment of panic – where she didn’t move – almost in disbelief.

“There’s a kind of balcony that opens onto the food court, and five minutes after we were up there, the shots went off and we kind of looked at each other and were like, is that what we thought it was? And with ten seconds, people were screaming, running, ”said Duchateau.
