GM Titans dissatisfied with Isaiah Wilson after tumultuous debut season: ‘It’s not the player we evaluate’

Isaiah Wilson is officially on alert with the Titans of Tennessee.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson had strong words for choosing the first round of 2020 this week, when he told reporters on Tuesday during a video conference that he had not spoken to Wilson since December.

“We put him on the non-football reserve / injury list and haven’t spoken to him since,” said Robinson, via ESPN. “He will have to decide whether he wants to do whatever it takes to play professional football. That will be his fault.”

The offensive tackle was placed on the NFL reserve / non-footballer list on December 9, but had a very tumultuous debut season.

He was spotted at a party near Tennessee State University while on the training ground in August and almost jumped off a second-floor balcony to avoid the police. He received a notice of trespassing from the campus police, but just a few weeks later, Wilson found himself in more serious trouble with the law when he was arrested by DUI in September.

He was recently attacked for attending a New Year’s party.

“We worked with him a lot before the draft. The player who was here in the fall was not the player we evaluated,” added Robinson.

Wilson was expected to be a future replacement for Jack Conklin, who left for the Cleveland Browns during the free agency. He played only four snaps last season, despite being No. 29 overall.
