Global sales data suggest that Balan Wonderworld has failed massively

Balan Wonderworld

When Balan Wonderworld was first revealed last July, we – and many in the Nintendo Life community, judging by those comments – were very intrigued to see how fair it would be. The premise of a new 3D platform game by Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima, creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, it was something we couldn’t not keep an eye out and hopes were high

Unfortunately, things have gotten worse since then. Doubt began to enter our minds when the game’s demo hit digital stores, with the development team quickly declaring that it planned to resolve all the negative player feedback generated in a patch from the first day. So, we had the final copy in our hands, and all of our fears about the quality of the title – or, unfortunately, the lack of it – became true.

With very bad reviews out there, it might not be surprising to see that the game sold poorly around the world. Japanese graphics from last week revealed that the physical copy of the game failed to make it into the top 30 in its debut week ( supposedly sold less than 2,100 copies), and it’s a similar story elsewhere.

As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, the game did not reach the top 30 on the Nintendo eShop charts in Japan and North America, and this week’s UK charts show that the game failed to reach the top 40, being overtaken by many of titles that have been on the charts for more than 100 weeks.

Balan Wonderworld has its fair share of negative media, from accusations of falsifying the soundtrack to warnings of epileptic seizures.

It is a great pity, especially since Yuji Naka explained earlier that this may be your only chance to make a successful 3D platform game at Square Enix, but it seems that even the suspicious and overly positive fan reviews will not be able to turn this ship around. sinking.
