Glastonbury was canceled for the second consecutive year due to COVID-19. The “year of forced rest” of the music and arts festival, originally scheduled for June 23-27, marks the first time that its modern incarnation will skip consecutive years. “Despite our efforts to move Heaven and Earth, it has become clear that we will simply not be able to make the festival happen,” wrote organizers Emily and Michael Eavis in a statement. “We appreciate your incredible support and look forward to better times ahead.”
As with last year’s cancellation, ticket holders can roll over the £ 50 deposit, guaranteeing the chance to secure tickets for the 2022 festival. In 2020, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney were chosen to head the festival . No schedule for next year’s festival – if you go ahead – has yet to be confirmed. The 2019 edition featured Cure, Stormzy, the Killers, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue and more.
