Giovanna stands out in the Guilty Gear Strive Starter Guide

The pig is in the pull

Now I know that you were waiting for this. Today Guilty Gear Strive The Arc System Works Beginner’s Guide gives us our first in-depth look at a very trendy, all-new and already fan-favorite character, Giovanna, who will make her debut in the series when GG Strive launches this spring.

The sexy, stylish new fighter may look like she stepped off the catwalks in Milan, but she is, after all, a federal agent charged with protecting some of the highest ranking officers on the planet. Don’t let that take you away from her, because Giovanna maintains her magnetism with a super cool attitude and a Good Boy named Rei, a wolf spirit that praises Giovanna’s acrobatic fighting style.

Designed as a friendly character for beginners, Giovanna strangely avoids projectiles, struggling with a variety of familiar kicking attacks. Giovanna has variants of Guile’s Flash Kick, Terry Bogard’s Crack Shoot and even Chun Li’s Spinning Bird Kick. To avoid being zoned, Giovanna can launch a Cannon Spike-like attack that nullifies the fireballs. Without projectiles, it is up to the players to press the opponent with an active forward progression, before mixing them with a variety of flashy combos and pitches. From this video, I’m a little concerned about Giovanna’s reach and options compared to other characters, but of course it’s the first of days, so we’ll see. AND WE WILL SEE HOW YOU CAN Warranty a real circus of Giovannas online in beta.

THE Guilty Gear Strive The beta will be released on February 18 for all PS4 and PS5 players – regardless of PlayStation Plus status. Pre-order customers can take action the day before, on February 17th. Guilty Gear Strive is released on April 9 on PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam. As an update course, check out the previous starting guides for May & Axl Low, Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, Chip Zanuff & Potemkin, Faust, Millia Rage, Zato-1, Ramlethal, Leo Whitefang and Nagoriyuki.
