Ginger Gonzaga Joins Disney + Marvel Series – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Ginger Gonzaga (Playing) is set to co-star alongside Tatiana Maslany in the next She Hulk Marvel series for Disney +.

She-Hulk is a legal comedy centered on the namesake heroine (Maslany), also known as Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who has powers similar to those of her cousin, Bruce Banner / The Hulk.

Gonzaga plays Walters’ best friend. As announced on Disney Investor Day, Avengers star Mark Ruffalo will repeat his role as The Hulk and Tim Roth is reprising his Hulk The Abomination character in She-Hulk.

The series is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao acting as the main writer.

Marvel declined to comment.

Gonzaga appeared in two Showtime series produced by Jim Carrey, Playing, in which Carrey also starred, and I’m dying here. She was a regular ABC series Mixology and TBS’s Wrecked, and was the host of Hulu’s daily pop culture recap The next morning, for which she also wrote. His main series credits also include the Duplass brothers Unity at HBO, Hulu’s Chance, Fox’s Family man and NBC’s Champions.

In the pilot’s last season, Gonzaga was cast as a regular character in Fox’s pilot drama The cleaning lady. Like virtually all 2020 drivers, it was pushed. She ended up choosing not to extend her option when she was ready, making it available for She-Hulk. She is represented by Haven Entertainment, Gersh and Melissa Fox at Hansen Jacobson Teller Hoberman.

UPDATE: Gonzaga reacted to Deadline’s story, sharing his enthusiasm about joining She-Hulk.
