EXCLUSIVE: Gina Carano will open up about being released from The Mandalorian in an interview with Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire, which we can see here on Deadline.
The interview, which will run on Sunday, The Ben Shapiro Show, is the first meeting on camera for Carano since she was kicked out of the Disney + Lucasfilm series last week for controversial posts on social media.
“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s going on, and I’ve seen it before,” the actress will say to Shapiro, with whom she has a new film contract. “I’m not the only one who has been bullied by this company, and I know that deeply,” she says.
She adds: “I could share a story that would change things in the media, but I can’t, because that would betray a friend … Everyone is afraid of losing their job.”

Carano, who played bounty hunter Cara Dune for the first two seasons of the show, will explain how she knew the writing was on the wall before her recent dismissal.
“Do you know how boxers sometimes hunt heads and forget to go after the body? I feel like Disney or Lucasfilm or whatever, just a few people from that company … I feel like I’ve been hunting (…) and I can feel it. Just a few weeks ago, Lucasfilm asked an artist they hired to delete my character and put a different character in place, and he proudly announces this on Twitter, deletes my character and puts another character in place. All Cara Dune fans were outraged. They were like, ‘Why didn’t you add the character? Why did you have to remove the character? There’s something wrong? Will Ginny be fired? “
Ultimately, Carano says he found that he would not return to the series in the same way as most of the world: via social media.
“I found out I looked on the internet, and you know, you check your Twitter and I’m being trending and the hashtag ‘Fire Gina Carano’ worked.”
But she also said she accidentally received an email from a Disney employee after social media’s reaction to her posts.
“They accidentally sent me an email, which was very enlightening, so I knew. I knew they were paying attention. I know there were some people who tried to defend me, but I know they didn’t win in the end. “
Carano agrees with conservative commentator Shapiro that she believes that there are two weights and two measures at stake in the studio, depending on each one’s policy. “They’re on top of me and watching me like a hawk, and I’m watching people in the same production and they can say whatever they want, and that’s when I had a problem. I had a problem because I was not following the narrative … “
Carano says he didn’t want to go back on the comments he made or stop saying what he thinks on social media.
“I was prepared at any moment to be dismissed, because I have seen this happen to so many people. I saw the expression on their faces. I saw the bullying that happens, so when it started, they aimed the guns at you, and you know it’s just a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen with so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) ‘you come after me, I know you are.’ “They are making it very obvious through their employees who were coming after me, so I thought, ‘I’m going to swing down and I’m going to stay true to myself.’ “
She says to Shapiro at another time: “When you called, my body is still shaking. It’s devastating, but the idea of it happening to anyone else, especially to someone who couldn’t handle it the way I can, no, they can’t do it. They can’t make people feel that way (…) and if I bow, it will be okay for these companies, which have a history of lying, lying and doing this with other people, and they did it to other people and I will not give up without a fight. “

Another photo in Carano’s Instagram story showed a person with several masks covering his face and head with the caption: “Meanwhile, in California”.
Both posts were deleted from the actress’ Instagram, but other people picked them up and posted again. The actress had already sparked controversy for posts about electoral fraud and gender pronouns.
It is not clear whether she signed an NDA with Disney, which is common in major film and TV franchises.
