Gina Carano learned that she was no longer part of the cast of The Mandalorian just like you, she revealed in an interview published Tuesday.
Carano was fired from the Star Wars series last week after posting and reposting a series of controversial messages, one of which compared being a conservative politician in America to being a Jew in Nazi Germany and another that mocked people for wearing masks. She has already fueled conspiracy theories about electoral fraud and Jeffrey Epstein.
Disney released a widely distributed statement that said: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. However, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are disgusting. and unacceptable. “
Carano saw the news online.
“I found out on social media, like everyone else, that I was fired,” she said.
The actress explained that she had been scolded for her comments in the past, that time for listing her personal pronouns in her Twitter bio as “beep / bop / boop”.
“At the beginning of last year, before The Mandalorian left, they wanted me to use their exact words for an apology about the use of pronouns, “said Carano.” I refused and made a statement in my own words. As Carano was fired from the program, the United Talent Agency reportedly dismissed her as a client.
Toy maker Hasbro confirmed on Tuesday that it will no longer offer Carano toys Mandalorian action figure.
“We are excited to have the privilege of creating products with characters and stories from The Mandalorian for our fans, “said Julie Duffy of Hasbro, head of global communications Deadline. “Hasbro has completed the development of all Season 1 and 2 products with Cara Dune, and there are no current plans to create more.
