Gina Carano had the feeling that her days were numbered in “The Mandalorian” even before she was fired by Disney, after several controversial posts on social networks.
This is according to ex-fighter Elite XC and Strikeforce, who previously appeared as ex-shock soldier Rebel Cara Dune for two seasons in the “Star Wars” spin-off that airs on Disney +.
“I’ve been through so much and seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that is occurring, and I’ve seen it before,” said Carano The Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro at a news conference that aired on Sunday via Deadline. “I’m not the only one who has been bullied by this company, and I know that deeply.
“I could tell a story that would change things in the media, but I can’t because I would sell it to a friend. Everyone is afraid of losing their job ”.
Although Disney and Lucasfilm previously talked to Carano about their controversial social media posts that included messages on Twitter and Instagram that contested the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, anti-mask rhetoric during the coronavirus pandemic and other conspiracy theories, it was recent post that compared the situation suffered by Republicans with the Jews who were massacred during the Holocaust in Nazi Germany, which led to their expulsion from the “Mandalorian”.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors … even by children. As the story is edited, most people today do not realize that, to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily arrest thousands of Jews, the government first caused its own neighbors to hate them simply because they were Jews. This is different from hating someone for their political opinions, ”said Carano in a post now deleted on his Instagram account.
This may have been the last straw before Carano was fired, she says the writing was already on the wall in relation to her status as part of the cast of the series “Star Wars”.

I feel like Disney or Lucasfilm or whatever, just a few people from that company … I feel like I’m being hunted, ”said Carano. “And you can feel it. Just a few weeks ago, Lucasfilm asked an artist they hired to delete my character and put a different character in place, and he proudly announces this on Twitter, deletes my character and puts another character in place.
“All Cara Dune fans were outraged. They were like, ‘Why didn’t you add the character? Why did you have to remove the character? There’s something wrong? Will Ginny be fired? “
Carano later revealed that she found out about her dismissal on social media when Lucasfilm representatives released a statement saying she was no longer employed in the studio, while calling her comments “disgusting” and “unacceptable”
“I was prepared at any moment to be dismissed, because I have seen this happen to many people,” said Carano. “I saw the expression on their faces. I saw the bullying that happens, and when it started, they aimed their guns at you, and you know it’s just a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen with so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’ “
“They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming after me, so I thought, ‘I’m going to go down and stay true to myself.'”
A few days after Carano was fired from “The Mandalorian”, she struck a deal with Shapiro to develop and star in a new film for the right-wing website that recently began to spread interest in the entertainment industry.
In addition to his resignation from “The Mandalorian”, Carano was also dismissed by his talent agents at UTA.
There were no further comments from Disney, Lucasfilm or “The Mandalorian” showrunner Jon Favreau, who participated in Carano’s casting for his role on the show.
Carano is not quiet, however, as she continues to target her former employers after her resignation.
“The thought that this will happen to anyone else, especially for someone who couldn’t handle it the way I can, no, they can’t do that,” said Carano.
“They can’t make people feel that way (…) and if I bow, it will be okay for these companies, which have a history of lying, lying and doing this with other people, and they did it with others people, and I will not give up without a fight ”.
Before his resignation, Carano was also reportedly in line to serve as one of the stars of the “Star Wars” series, “Rangers of the New Republic”.
In addition to her role in “The Mandalorian”, Carano had previously appeared in films such as “Deadpool” and “Haywire” after she transitioned to an acting career after her last MMA fight in 2009.
