Giants News, 3/19: Kenny Golladay, NFL media deal, David Mayo, more

Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Kenny Golladay expects to get Giants offer if all payments are made

The giants will do due diligence. There will be COVID-19 tests and then Golladay will do a medical exercise. He played just five games last season, dealing with a hip flexor injury, and that should be explored further. Golladay will meet with coach Joe Judge and the offensive coaches and will also speak with general manager Dave Gettleman.

It is not as if the Giants did not have previous information about Golladay. They recently hired Kyle O’Brien as a senior personnel executive. O’Brien has spent the past five years with the Lions, so he can give the Giants an inside look at Golladay on and off the field.

If all goes well, the Giants – who have already started preliminary negotiations on the contract – should make an offer. The belief in a free agency was that Golladay would cost up to $ 20 million a year. This will not happen. The estimate of $ 15 million a year is closer to the goal the Giants need to reach, unless both sides believe that a one-year deal makes more sense.

The ex-giants remain on NFC East. Mayo played for Washington coach Ron Rivera in Carolina, so that shouldn’t be a big surprise.

NFL announces new broadcast deals during the 2033 season

With the burden of providing fans with versatility to watch the games they love and stability for years to come, the NFL announced on Thursday that it has signed long-term deals with media partners Amazon, CBS, ESPN / ABC, FOX and NBC to distribute NFL games across television and digital platforms, along with additional media rights.

The deals will start at the beginning of the 2023 season and extend until the 2033 season, expanding the league’s digital football to a wider audience, while preserving the custom of keeping all NFL competitions broadcast on television.
