Get the new Android 12 emojis on any Android device with root access

Google typically introduces a new set of emojis with each Android system update. This year, the company will likely introduce the new emojis introduced in Unicode’s Emoji 13.1 with Android 12. Although these new emojis have not appeared in any version of Android 12 Developer Preview released so far, you can now start using them in more recent versions. old versions of Android if you have a device with root access.

To get the new Android 12 emojis on your rooted Android device, you will need to update the Emoji Magisk module of the XDA Senior Member RKBD. The module will replace your system’s emoji font file with an updated version containing the new emojis that will make an appearance in the next Android 12 release. The module will work on any rooted Android device and does not require Android 12. You can download it accessing the XDA forum topic linked below.

It is important to note that Gboard users can also access the new Emoji 13.1 defined in Emoji Kitchen, according to a recent tweet of Daniel. In the tweet, Daniel reveals that Emoji Kitchen “Now supports the latest Unicode version (13.1).” For those who don’t know, Emoji Kitchen is a feature of Gboard that allows you to create personalized emoji mash-ups. You can read more about it by clicking on this link.

It is also worth mentioning that Google is working to decouple new emojis with updates to the Android system. This will allow the company to release the latest Unicode emojis simply by sending an updated font file instead of requiring a complete system update. This change is expected to go live with the stable version of Android 12 later this year.
