Original Story [Thu 11th Feb, 2021 17:30 GMT]: How Terminator and the Predator making its Fortnite debut, it wouldn’t seem too unrealistic to expect another popular 80’s movie franchise to make its debut in the popular Battle Royale game.

It all started with a post from HYPEX on Twitter containing the image of a new portal that will open on Fortnite Island. This was found in the game’s source code.

Then, a few hours later, the official Fortnite Twitter account posted an audio clip of Jonesy (an important Fortnite character who is currently getting help from different universes as part of the game’s “Zero Point” narrative) sitting down to try and call an old and dusty PC.

As you can see, this broadcast is identified as “MCP-82 Reality Record” – and, as movie fans know, MCP means “Master Control Program” at Disney’s Tron series, while 82 represents the year the original Tron film was released. “They fight for users” clearly refers to the character Tron from the same film.

Tron had a sequel in 2010 entitled Tron Legacy, which featured an incredible soundtrack by the French duo Daft Punk. A TV series called Tron: Revolt, arrived in 2012 and, more recently, there have been reports that a new film is in development, with Jared Leto involved.
