Whether or not you can sit in front of the TV during this afternoon’s Super Bowl, you can still keep an eye on who’s winning. Google went to The Keyword to share some helpful Google Assistant tips that can help you get the most out of the event.
For example, you may already know that saying “Hey Google, who’s winning the Super Bowl” will show the current score until the move, but did you know that Google Assistant is rooting for Bucs? Audible sigh! To be fair, they are literally my home team, and yes, I know they only made it today thanks to Tom Brady.
You can also say “Ok Google, help me talk like a football fan”. By the way, “I knew they were going to do that play”. You will understand what I mean later. If you’re like me and have no idea about football – yes, you can crucify me now – you can say “Ok Google, give me facts about football”. If you’re cooking pizza or chicken wings – something I’m totally using today as an excuse to do – you can say “Ok Google, set a timer for pizza” or “Ok Google, set a timer for chicken wings”.
Because even someone as oblivious as I understand that the Super Bowl is the only time worth watching commercials and ads, be sure to visit youtube.com/adblitz for ads, teasers and extended cuts that will air during the game! Ads with the most views by February 15 will have the right to boast for the rest of the year – a little extra fun. If you want to see which commercials were banned from playing this year, they’ll definitely be on YouTube later.
Since Bucs are the first team to play the Super Bowl at their stadium, something I became very aware of while driving in horrific traffic to the Florida Aquarium last week, I suppose I should take a moment to brag about the fact that in addition to Michigan, Florida is the only state to exclusively search for “chicken wings” as the Super Bowl’s main food this year!

At the very least, the map shows how disgusting and delightfully American we are. Well, except for you, Maryland – I’m not sure how shrimp toast is Super Bowl food. Maybe I’m just not part of the group, but I would prefer the Wyoming coconut milk dessert with chia seeds any day! “Ok Google, enjoy the Super Bowl!”
