Gerry Adams launched his latest offer for the Irish unit, this time in the form of a chocolate egg.
On a video shared on Twitter, the former president of Sinn Féin revealed a “very, very, very special package that we put together at considerable cost” – a chocolate egg wrapped in a sheet of paper that says # Time4Unity.
Adams said: “While we honor our dead patriots, it is very, very important that we do it and remember the sacrifices of all these generations, and particularly the men and women of our own time and also the men and women of 1916… Easter is also about Easter eggs.
“What better thing to unite the people of Ireland than an Uniting Ireland Easter egg. Let me tell you, even union members like Easter eggs ”.

Adams and his longtime ally and press officer, Richard McAuley, have already brought Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day cards as part of their Uniting Ireland project.
He said it was a “cross community, all of Ireland, the whole Easter egg island” and included an Easter proclamation and lily. Because of coronavirus restrictions, supply is limited and eggs are only available in Belfast, said Adams.
Some Twitter users accused Adams of disrespect for announcing the news of the 28th anniversary of the death of Tim Parry, 12, and Jonathan Ball, 3, killed by an IRA bomb in Warrington. More than 50 people were injured in the attack, which was never prosecuted.
