A German pilot drew a giant syringe in the sky on Sunday to encourage people to get the coronavirus vaccine at the start of the immunization campaign in Europe.
Reuters reported that 20-year-old Samy Kramer plotted the route before flying over the skies near Lake Constance in southern Germany. The flight route can be viewed on the website Flightradar24.
“There are still relatively many people opposing vaccination and my action can be a reminder for them to think about it, to get things moving,” Kramer told Reuters.
“Perhaps it was also a sign of joy, because the aviation industry was hit hard by the pandemic,” he added.
German pilot Samy Kramer traced a syringe in the sky before Christmas. He traced a 200-kilometer route that later appeared on the website flightradar24. He said he would like to support the vaccination campaign in. Well done! pic.twitter.com/vGDGFxa2QJ

European Union countries received their first shipments of the coronavirus vaccine last weekend. In Germany, those who care for vulnerable populations and people over 80 are prioritized to receive the vaccine first.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said on Saturday: “At the moment, trucks are underway in Europe, Germany and their regions, to deliver the first vaccine. More deliveries will happen the day after tomorrow. This vaccine is the decisive key to ending this pandemic. “
The EU has agreed to buy 300 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, as well as millions of other doses from other pharmaceutical companies.
According to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 data panel, Germany has confirmed more than 1.6 million cases and more than 30,000 deaths.
