On Friday night, President Donald Trump tweeted that the upcoming Georgia Senate elections are “illegal and invalid”.
A few hours later, Trump promised to “meet” for the two Republican candidates – Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue – and told Georgians to “get ready to vote on Tuesday”.
In the initial three-part topic on Twitter alleging fraud, Trump said Tuesday’s vote would be illegitimate because of one of the state’s legal agreements.

“The Georgia Consent Decree is unconstitutional and the 2020 state presidential elections are therefore illegal and invalid, and that would include the current two Senate elections,” wrote the president.

The consent decree, a bipartisan agreement signed in March, set standards for verifying signatures on absentee votes. All legal attempts to prove that this decree is unconstitutional have failed.
Other legal challenges to overturn election results, such as L. Lin Wood and Sidney Powell’s attempt to cancel certification of Georgia’s results, were also rejected.
Although Trump inaccurately dismissed the Senate’s two second rounds on Tuesday as illegitimate, he still urged his followers to vote.

The elections will directly affect the beginning of Joe Biden’s presidency. If Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock win, the Democratic Party will control the legislative and executive branches, allowing Biden to more easily fulfill his legislative goals.
Trump will speak at a rally in Dalton on Monday. Vice President Mike Pence will speak at Milner in the late afternoon.
The dispute is fierce and both parties spend extraordinary amounts to help secure a majority in the Senate.
Since election day, Georgia Senate candidates and outside groups have spent $ 480 million on advertising, according to AdImpact. It is now the most expensive Senate race ever.
According to a recent poll, Democrats have a slight but growing advantage.
More than 3 million people have already voted in the second round of the Senate on January 5, according to ABC News.
