Moments after Daniels’ post, Georgia received great news that two other projected beginners would be back in 2021:
• Georgia RB James Cook announces return for next season
• UGA DT Devonte Wyatt makes plans to officially return
Daniels’ return is expected to create an explosive 2021 season for the Bulldogs to attack.
Georgia won 4-0 with Daniels as a full-back in 2020. The USC transfer surpassed knee surgery out of season to help Bulldogs secure season-ending victories over Mississippi, South Carolina, Missouri and Cincinnati.

The announcement is a step in the right direction for Coach Kirby Smart’s retention efforts. Georgia has already lost at least three underclassmen to the 2021 NFL Draft:
• Junior Cornerback Eric Stokes
• Second year redshirt off linebacker Azeez Ojulari
• Junior Trey Hill Center
UGA still awaits the decisions of juniors Jordan Davis, James Cook, Tyson Campbell, Jamaree Salyer and Zamir White.

Smart placed Georgia in a series of four consecutive Top 10 submissions after an impressive victory at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
The Bulldogs had their backs to the wall in the 24-21 victory over the Bearcats, recovering from a 21-10 deficit to record the biggest turnaround in the fourth quarter of Smart’s five-year tenure as head coach.

Daniels, who moved from Southern Cal to UGA last May, led the team from its own 20-yard line with 1:29 remaining and no timeouts and into the field goal area of Jack Podlesny, who started to punch the winner about the game.
The new Bulldogs quarterback shifted credit to Ojulari, Podlesny and tailback Kenny McIntosh immediately after the game on the pitch.

“At this point, I feel like I’ve been here for years,” said Daniels. “Instantly, when I joined, I felt a connection with the team, a connection with the way this program is run, is the way I would say. We are all about the ball.
“In the past two and a half months, I really enjoyed the time of being with guys who think like me, who are all about work, ball, everything about competition.”
Georgia fans may be thrilled that Daniels will be around for another season in Athens to compete some more, starting with the September 4 debut against Clemson in Charlotte, NC
At least one simulated NFL draft from CBS Sports designed Daniels as a first-round pick.
Daniels’ four games were not enough for him to be listed in the NCAA statistics, but this is where he would have projected him in the standings:
Yards per game pass
307.75 – 10th
Completion percentage
67.23 – 18
Touchdown passes
25 (2.5 per game, projected) – 12th
Approval efficiency rating
178.49 – 10th
