“The reason I’m having to be here today is because there are people in positions of authority and respect who said their votes didn’t count, and that’s not true,” said Gabriel Sterling, manager of voting systems implementation at the Georgia Office Secretary of State during a press conference.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there is nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you recalculated,” Trump said in a part of the call. Raffensperger replied, “Well, Mr. President, the challenge you have is that the data you have is wrong.”
Elsewhere, Trump said, “So, look, all I want to do is this, I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”
Sterling said on Monday that the president’s allegations of electoral fraud are “easily, proven false”, while he went over some of the conspiracy theories that Trump suggested in his connection with Raffensperger.
Addressing Trump’s claim that the banknotes have been shredded, Sterling said categorically, “There is no shredding of banknotes happening. This is not real. It is not happening.”
Turning to Trump’s questions about Dominion voting machines being nefariously removed, Sterling said, “Nobody is changing parts or pieces of Dominion voting machines. I don’t even know what that means.”
“It is not a real thing. This is not happening,” he said.
If any of the incumbent Republicans – Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue – keep your seat, the party will retain its majority control in the House.
If Democratic opponents Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock prevail, however, Democrats will gain control of the Senate thanks to Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’s tiebreaker vote.
“If you are a voter in Georgia, if you want your values to be reflected by your election officials, I strongly beg and encourage you, go vote tomorrow. Don’t let anyone discourage you. Don’t self-suppress your own vote. Don’t make one self-fulfilling prophecy of doing that. Don’t let anyone steal your vote that way, “said Sterling.
“And this is what is happening. If you suppress yourself, you will be taking your important voice out of this election.”
None of the challenges, however, will change the fact that Biden will be the next president of the United States, and several courts have contested the election.
“At the end of the day, we want to make sure people understand their vote count,” said Sterling on Monday. “Every person, every voice is important.”
