Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling blamed Senator Kelly Loeffler’s runoff defeat in President Trump’s battle to overturn the presidential election during a news conference on Wednesday.
“If you look at the past two months, the President of the United States has spent more time attacking the Gov. [Brian] Kemp and Secretary [Brad] Raffensperger than Raphael Warnock and … [Jon] Ossoff, “said Sterling.” It annoys me.
Sterling said there was “no evidence of any irregularities” in the runoff elections. Warnock is ahead of Loeffler by more than 0.5%, meaning the race would not require a recount.
GEORGIA RUNOFFS PROMPT CELEBRITY REACTIONS WHEN VOTES ARE ACCOUNTED
Sterling, who opposed Trump’s allegations of electoral fraud, raised his eyebrows on Tuesday for offering election analysts as the state’s runoff votes were counted.

Sterling responded to criticism during Wednesday’s press conference.
“The last time I checked, I’m an American, he said.” I have the right First Amendment to answer some of these things, but I try to separate myself from my role here. “
People ask him for his personal opinion occasionally. He acknowledged that he is a Republican and has a mixed opinion about the runoff campaigns, but he usually tries to walk the line, he said.

“It would have been much easier for us to agree with these presidential claims than to actually stand up for the truth,” said Sterling.
