Georgia Bulldogs won the ESPN Jr. 300 QB Gunner Stockton commitment in the state

ESPN Junior 300 quarterback Gunner Stockton announced his commitment to Georgia on Thursday, choosing Bulldogs over Auburn.

Stockton, a 1.80m double threat quarterback at £ 195 at Rabun County High School in Tiger, Georgia, is ranked 41st overall in the 2022 class and recruits 6th in the state.

Stockton had already committed to South Carolina, but dropped out on January 12, almost two months after the Gamecocks fired coach Will Muschamp.

Stockton is the latest addition to Georgia’s already well-stocked quarterback room. The Bulldogs signed with ESPN 300 quarterback Brock Vandagriff during the 2021 early subscription period in December. Vandagriff was recruitment number 36 in general and potential number 4 in Georgia.

Stockton joins a class of 2022 Bulldogs who now have seven appointments, all from the state of Georgia. This includes five recruits from ESPN Junior 300, led by the defensive side Tire West, which is ranked 8th overall. West is a 6-foot-tall, 270-pound striker from Tift County High School in Tifton, and the best recruit in the state. Athlete Deyon Bouie is the number 15 general candidate and the number two recruit in Georgia.

With Stockton committed, Georgia now has commitments from four of the five recruits ranked in the top ten in the state ranking. Bulldogs currently rank third in the 2021 cycle and the fourth largest ESPN Junior 300 engagement in 2022 behind Ohio State, Penn State and LSU.
