Georgia added 3,152 COVID-19 cases to a total of 546,859 cases on Monday.
The Georgia Department of Public Health also reported five deaths, 165 hospitalizations and 11 admissions to intensive care units. This raises the state to 9,719 deaths, 40,952 hospitalizations and 7,247 ICU admissions.
The agency reported the following new cases for counties in the area:
Richmond County added 65 cases to 12,267, Columbia 40 to 6,997, McDuffie County five to 961, Screven County two to 518, Warren County two to 217, Jefferson County seven to 1,121, Jenkins County one to 513, Glascock County one to 85, and Taliaferro County three to 48.
No new cases for Burke, Wilkes and Lincoln counties.
No new deaths have been reported in the Augusta area.
Augusta Medical Hospital has confirmed 483 cases to date and is treating 48 patients internally, according to spokesman Kaden Jacobs.
The Southern Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 1,626 cases and 18 deaths, for a total of 275,285 cases and 4,782 deaths. Aiken County added 37 cases and one death to reach 7,654 cases and 115 deaths. Edgefield County added four cases to reach 1,418, while its death toll remains at 19.
South Carolina hospitalized 14,050 residents with the virus last Saturday.
