Georgetown law professor Sandra Sellers fired for comments on black students

Georgetown Law fired an associate professor and put another on leave because of comments about black students at the university. Sandra Sellers, who is white, said during a recorded zoom call, “I hate to say that. I end up having this anguish every semester that many of my inferiors are black. It happens almost every semester. And it’s like, ‘Oh, come on.’ You get some really good ones, but there are also some that are simple at the bottom. It drives me crazy. “She apologized in a letter of resignation:” I would never do anything to intentionally hurt my students or the Georgetown law and wish I could withdraw my words. Regardless of my intention, I did irreparable harm and I really feel so much for that. “David Batson, also a participant in the call, was put on leave. The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Affirmative Action at Georgetown University opened an investigation. Dean of law faculty William Treanor considered the comments” reprehensible ” .
