George RR Martin makes a big deal for HBO A It Bends down on the ‘GoT’ franchise – Deadline

George RR Martin, whose A song of ice and fire saga generated huge success for HBO The Game of Thrones and a series of planned spinoffs, signed a new five-year general agreement with the premium network and its streaming brother HBO Max.

Martin will develop content for HBO and HBO Max under the pact, announced on Friday, which is expected to be in the eight digits. He had been under a general agreement at HBO since 2013.

Martin is co-creator and executive producer of the next Took prequel series Dragon House. He is also an executive producer of several other Took prequel projects on works at HBO and HBO Max as part of the growing franchise. They include 9 trips also known as Water snake, Flea fund, 10,000 vessels and an adaptation of Martin’s Tales of Dunk & Egg soap operas – everything for HBO – the best possible Took animated series, which is a possibility for HBO Max.

The WarnerMedia-owned cabler and premium streamer are committed to “digging deep into the Game of Thrones realm with George,” a source told Deadline.

Out of Took universe, Martin produced executive Who Fears Death and Roadmarks, both in development at HBO.

Martin served as an executive co-producer in The Game of Thrones, participation in the four Emmy Awards of the Drama Series. He is represented by WME, Christine Cuddy and Vince Gerardis.
