UPDATE: Maintenance for Genshin Impact will begin at 22:00 GMT and the servers are expected to be idle for at least five hours. During this time, a small level of compensation will be paid to players when they log in again.
Genshin Impact 1.4 will be live after today’s maintenance and is due to be completed by 3:00 am GMT on Wednesday, March 17th. Last minute extensions and delays are always possible and can change the final update time for Genshin.

ORIGINAL: The Genshin Impact 1.4 update has a release date set for Wednesday, March 17, but that will also mean that the servers will be offline for maintenance.
In preparation for the new version of the game being released, Mihoyo will have to shut down the servers for about five hours.
This means that players will not be able to complete basic functions or play on live servers until it is completed.
The good news is that we know when Genshin Impact’s servers will be down and when update 1.4 will be available to play.
WHEN DOES GENSHIN IMPACT MAINTENANCE BEGIN?
According to Mihoyo, Genshin Impact’s servers will be shut down at 22:00 GMT on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
The maintenance of Genshin 1.4 will last five hours and will take place on all platforms, including PS4, Mobile and PC.
Mihoyo also confirmed that there will be compensation for players, 60 Primogems for every hour that the servers go down.
A message from the development explains: “To ensure that all travelers have the best experience possible with the Genshin Impact, our developers will soon begin to maintain the update. Once completed, the game will be upgraded to a new version.
“After Travelers install the new game client, they will be able to continue playing. It is recommended to install the update over a Wi-Fi connection due to the large file size.
“As long as the update maintenance is in progress, travelers will not be able to log into the game. Note the update time and schedule the game time accordingly to avoid losing progress. We hope that travelers will be patient with us during the break. >
“Maintenance of the update starts on 2021/03/17 06:00 (UTC + 8) and has an estimated duration of 5 hours. Accurate times are subject to change. Players may also experience interruptions outside this period. “

New feature: Hangout events
After updating to version 1.4, the new “Hangout Events” feature will be added to the game. Travelers who reach the required Adventure Rank and complete the prerequisite missions will be able to unlock the Hangout events for Barbara, Noelle, Chongyun and Bennett using Story Keys. (Each Hangout event requires 2 story keys to unlock.)
New Archon Quest
You hear from Ganyu and Lan that the Treasures of Mondstadt and Liyue have come together and plan to be involved in some ruins associated with the Order of the Abyss. Fearing the chaos that treasure accumulators can cause through your involvement, you take the commission and investigate.
New World Missions – A total of 8 world missions will be available during the Windblume Festival.

Elemental Skill “Ravaging Confession”: Quickly maneuvers behind the enemy (except for some large enemies) and unleashes an attack that causes Cryo DMG. Elemental Burst “Rites of Termination”: casts an Ice Lance on the ground that deals with periodic attacks from AoE Cryo DMG.
