Genshin Impact reveals details of update 1.3

It looks like the Genshin Impact 1.2 update came out last month (because it did), but Mihoyo is already releasing details about the next 1.3 update. The new update will play at the annual Lantern Rite festival, a new playable character and various festival activities.

To start the event, you will meet Xiao, the new playable character, for a history journey, after which you will be able to return to the decorated port to participate in the Lantern Rite festival. The festival adds a tower defense mini-game for up to two players, called Theater Mechanicus, which will give you event-specific money to spend on the event market.

There is also a daily photography challenge to participate, called Five Flushes of Fortune, which can earn you those Primogems you always need. Mihoyo says that the Lantern Rite festival will also give him the chance to choose any four-star character from Liyue without spending his jewelry. If you need help choosing, check out the list of RPS Genshin Impact character levels.

The new character Xiao is a firearm user with the anemo element who will receive his own character event wish so that you can try to arrest him when the update is released in February.

You can find the trailer above to see how Liyue Harbor was transformed for the festival, but to see the details of Lantern Rite, you can check out the video program that Mihoyo put together. They also distributed some Primogem codes during the video and I know how important they are, so here it is, three codes lovingly transcribed and tested by you:

  • jsSK8n23jzR
  • dU2mhjQL1ZT
  • nBEm3myAL2b

They will earn you a total of 300 Primogems on the redemption site and are valid until January 22 at 8pm PST, which is 4am on 23rd GMT. That’s only a few hours from now, see.

Update 1.3 for the Genshin Impact “All That Glitters” will be released on February 3.
