Looking for a tutorial on a hangout event in Chongyun? The Genshin Impact Hangout events arrived with update 1.4 of the game. They are multiple choice missions, branched and with several possible endings. Which one you get depends on the dialog options you choose.
There are currently four hangout events available, each unlocked with two story keys. Playing in every possible path for each character grants additional rewards and achievements. However, not all dialogue options lead to one of Chongyun’s six ‘finals’ – during the hangout event, there is a heart rate meter in the upper right corner and if you make a mistake talking to him, he will lose his heart and you can end the hangout sooner.
Even if you slip and it gets rid of you, you can still restart the hangout event from the beginning or fall into any of the checkpoints in the story you previously unlocked. There is no need for trial and error here – we are here to guide you through all possible endings to the Chongyun hangout event, including secret achievements.
Blessing in disguise
Pier meeting> A curious look> On the trail of the evil spirit
Chongyun asks if he is deciphering the clues correctly – tell him that they look far-fetched. After talking to a child, Chongyun asks what to do with the popsicles; tell him to give the child one of the popsicles. Then, you will go to the Wanwen Bookhouse, and Chongyun will ask you a series of questions about the evil spirits. Answering incorrectly will decrease Chongyun’s heart rate meter by two; answering all questions correctly will unlock a secret achievement – ‘Look, my evil eye!’
The correct answers are:
- “There is a ghostly shadow …”
- “At the bottom of the sea of clouds …”
- “There is a watchful demon …”
After exploring the forest together, you encounter some dark forces. No matter what you say to him after that – you will unlock the ending ‘Blessing In Disguise’.
Idle Amusements
Meeting by the Wharf> A Curious Gaze> Popsicle Emergency> A Cooling Mix / A Sweet Mix
Once again, you start by telling Chongyun that your ideas seem far-fetched, but this time, also tell him to give the child both popsicles. You are now out of popsicles and you should get more – time to go to the Wanmin Restaurant. When Chongyun asks if you are a good cook, tell him “Making popsicles looks easy”. Then he asks you to suggest ingredients; choose one of the options on the right – ‘Mist Flower and Qingxin’ or ‘Sunsettia and Valberries’. This determines the next step – ‘A Cooling Mix’ or ‘A Sweet Mix’ – but the two lead him to play hide and seek with some children and then cook a meal for them.
I can’t beat this heat
Pier meeting> A curious look> Popsicle emergency
This journey starts just like the previous one – tell Chongyun that your ideas seem far-fetched and give the child the two popsicles. This time, when suggesting ingredients for the popsicles, choose the option on the left – ‘Jueyun Chili and Slime Condensate’. Looks delicious. Unfortunately, his mix proves too much for Chongyun, and he passes out, ending ‘Can’t Beat This Heat’ and unlocking an achievement.
Nothing gained
Quay meeting> To test your courage> Chongyun’s determination> No wasted effort
This time, when Chongyun asks what you think of the clues, don’t say that they look far-fetched. Chongyun will then recruit you for his quest to track down evil spirits – even if you say you are not interested, he will bring you along. After going to Wuwang Hill, you must decide whether to share a potion with Chongyun or to drink yourself. Choose “Let’s both drink”. You then go in search of spirits, but afterwards, Chongyun says he doesn’t feel well.
Tell him, “Sure, just rest. I will continue to investigate on my own ”. When you return to it later, you reveal that there was no real danger, and that the ghost was a scam – and reaches the end of ‘Nothing Won’.
Small Regrets

This path also requires you to go on a mission with Chongyun, telling him that his tracks are not far-fetched. After you and Chongyun drink the potion together, tell him “Let me help you find a place to rest”. Then you choose to go out to find Cryo Slime Condensate or Cryo Whopperflower Nectar for him – no matter which one you choose. You defeat the corresponding enemy and return to Chongyun.
Alternatively, you can choose to drink the potion yourself. Then, after investigating the spirits, you return to Chongyun. Anyway, after talking to him and revealing that there was no real threat, say that you want to go back, instead of investigating the strange fog, to unlock the ending of ‘Little Regrets’.
Goodbye
After all, Nothing Going Bump> As Yet Unresigned
This ending can be obtained in exactly the same way as the previous ending, Little Regrets, but instead of telling Chongyun that you want to go back, tell him that you would like to investigate the strange fog. You encounter the ghost Qianquian and tell Chongyun about it, after which he decides to leave you alone.
