Generation Z considers skinny jeans out of fashion: what to wear instead

The culture of cancellation is coming for the generation of the millennium and you will want to stay on top of this newly rejected fashion trend.

According to Generation Z, skinny jeans are officially over. The trend was reported on TikTok, with videos condemning tights and asking for their immediate removal from all closets in some very dramatic ways.

In this melodramatic and hopefully sarcastic video by user @momohkd, she instructs her 410,000 viewers to throw the pants away, set them on fire or cut them into something new. At least the last option was economical, right?

The millennials and above are understandably upset by this sudden shift to baggy pants, as skinny jeans are a staple for most and were considered the next high step after mom’s baggy jeans and super low 90s jeans.

The user @ takingmylifebackat42 used the platform not only to applaud this drastic cancellation of jeans, but also highlighted more trends that the younger generation prematurely canceled or claimed to have created, including the middle part of the hair, elastics and “extended leggings” that obviously they are just yoga pants.

With all that said, perhaps Gen Z is right, and it doesn’t hurt to expand the pants’ wardrobe a little to keep up with the times.

Since skinny jeans are restrictive and we’re spending more time working from home anyway, here are some looser and cooler options to try, from wide leg jeans to mommy and daddy jeans and everything in between.

If you already love your leggings, try your super slimming jeans, but definitely don’t wear skinny jeans in size.

Yummie’s bootcut style comes in a variety of colors, from black, dark navy and an even darker navy on sale for just $ 39, to a white or classic blue denim for $ 88. No matter what color, find it a flattering mid-waist fit with a wide bootcut leg that is the perfect match to keep up with this new trend.

Take this trend to the extreme with these super wide jeans from Free People.

The distressed style has a high waist to keep them in the body, but it’s all baggy from there, with extra wide legs and a sloppy silhouette – and pre-ripped at the knees for that retro grunge look.
