Gene’s old home sits on a private road at the top of the canyon – an area famous for hosting many of Los Angeles’ best rock musicians in the 60s and 70s, making it the perfect getaway for Simmons.

Everyone, from Joni Mitchell to Jim Morrison, called the canyon their home at one point, making it known as the residential mecca of music.

The house originally had a mid-century modern feel before he made any contemporary adjustments to his purchase. He renovated bathrooms and kitchens, but chose to retain some of the original charm of the house.
