President Joe Biden’s foreign policy toward China may be more similar to his predecessor than many expect, Fox News senior strategic analyst General Jack Keane (retired) said on Wednesday.
“I think we will find here [is that] While [there are] significant differences on the domestic side between the Trump administration and the Biden administration, I think people will be surprised at the amount of similarities that there will be in dealing with foreign policy and national security, “Keane told Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum during Fox’s coverage News from Biden inauguration.
“The fact is,” added Keane, “that the people around President Biden are very much in agreement with Trump’s redefinition of the global security challenges we face.”
Keane said that Biden’s circle, led by designated secretary of state Antony Blinken, appears to understand the power competition between the U.S. and China and the threat to America from North Korea and Iran.

The main differences between Trump and Biden, he added, are in matters of style and tone.
Turning to Biden’s stated intention to re-enter the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran with the help of former Secretary of State John Kerry, Keane said that such a step will not be as simple as the new president says.

“Whether you agree with Trump or not to get out of the nuclear deal, I agree with him, [the Rouhani regime] on your heels, “he said.
“This is the opportunity that the Biden team faces. Because of the sanctions, they are desperate,” continued Keane, who suggested that the Abraham Agreements forged by Trump and Jared Kushner laid the groundwork for an “Arab NATO” in the Middle East which can be used as a bulwark against the Iranian regime.
