Adam Gase he became a polarizing figure during his stint as head coach of the Jets, to say the least. His tenure was nothing short of a disaster, as New York ended 2-14 this year, and the media and fans are united in their dislike for him. That said, it may not be enough to hurt Gase’s representative in league circles, and it looks like he may have some opportunities ahead of him. Even before Bill Belichick recently sang his praises before Week 17, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe wrote that he had already heard Gase’s name linked to the Patriots.
Volin thinks Gase would make sense like the Patriots’ new defender coach with Jedd Fisch taking over as head coach in Arizona, or potentially the new CO if Josh McDaniels left. As he points out, there are legitimate ties here. Both Gase and McDaniels got their first coaching jobs as student assistants in Nick Saban’s Michigan state officials in 1999. At the time, Gase was the coach for McDaniels receivers when McDaniels became the Broncos’ head coach. With Gase coaching the Dolphins before getting the job at the Jets, he has spent the past few years battling Belichick twice a year at AFC East. This hiring would certainly raise a lot of eyebrows if that happens.

- O Accounts escaped a difficult test by the Colts on Saturday, but it looks like they will be without a key piece to advance. Running back Zack Moss will waste time with an ankle injury, and the fear is that his postseason may end, Mike Garafolo tweets. Moss had to be expelled from the field, so the fact that he was not 100 percent done in the playoffs could be positive. The Utah round three rookie split the backfield time with Devin Singletary throughout the season, and had seven shipments and four catches against Indy before falling. Singletary will now be the highlight in the future. Moss ended his debut season with 112 runs for 481 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. It’s certainly not ideal, but Buffalo’s chances at the Super Bowl will still depend on Josh Allenit’s the arm and not the floor.
- Ace of special teams Matthew Slater had a historic career with the Patriots, but it may be coming to an end. Slater is unsure about playing in 2021 and will take some time before deciding on retirement, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com. “I’m at a point in my career where I don’t know how much football I have left and I think that, as a young guy, I always thought about the next season, the career you hope to have”Said Slater. “Now, obviously, I’m in the last nine. ” If so, he will hang up his boots after an extremely decorated career. Slater won three Super Bowls with New England, made nine Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro teams. It would also represent the end of an era, as the team captain is one of the few guys left over besides Belichick from the old guard Patriots.
- About the Jets, they will have the most important off-season of any team in the division. The first thing to do is decide what to do with Sam Darnoldand, in turn, the second general choice, as we have already heard that they will be negotiating one of them. There will certainly be a lot of speculation at the start of the draft, and ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay is saying he thinks New York will no longer have a new quarterback, via ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini. “I know [Jets GM] Joe Douglas. Obviously, I played with him in college. We have a good relationship,”Said McShay. “I know he grew up in Ozzie Newsome organization with the Ravens. If it won’t be Trevor Lawrence, it will be moved down, if possible. If not, we will protect [Darnold] and get the player that we think could be our franchise ”. As for Douglas, he praised Darnold at his year-end press conference, but did not commit to him for long. This is just one of many data points, but it now looks like Darnold has a good chance of being below the center in 2021.
