Severino making progress
Luis Severino’s return from last year’s Tommy John surgery is still going well after last week’s increase in pitches. He will continue to shoot 36 meters next week and, if all goes well, he will be able to play a lot for the first time the following week.
Weight off your shoulder
Mike Tauchman said he suffered an injury to his right shoulder last year after exacerbating the situation. The outfielder, who is fighting for a spot in the squad, said this may have contributed to his bad season, but added that he was not serious enough for a stint at IL.
Caught my eye
After struggling to hit the fastballs last season, Gary Sanchez hit one from Chad Green in live hitting practice, which hitting coach Marcus Thames said was a positive sign for the receiver in his attempt to return from his nightmare. 2020 – since it was a pitch he fought in private. Sanchez should do DH on Sunday and pick up Gerrit Cole on Monday.
