GameStop, BlackBerry, Kimberly-Clark: what to watch for when the stock market opens today

Here’s what we’re watching before Monday’s opening bell.

US stock futures in general have been little changed, although tech stocks have charged more before a highly successful week in profits, with investors awaiting results from companies like Apple, Tesla and Facebook.

Futures contracts linked to the S&P 500 fell less than 0.1%, while contracts linked to the Nasdaq-100 advanced 0.9%.

What’s coming

Gains are due Steel Dynamics and Hexcel after closing.

The World Economic Forum holds a virtual meeting this week. Chinese President Xi Jinping’s speech at 7 am ET highlights today’s agenda. Monday’s panels include European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde on restoring economic growth at 11 am, and Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey on digital currencies at 12 pm.
