GameStop announces new stock for PS5 and Xbox Series X

GameStop announced a replenishment of the PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch, which will be released tomorrow. At the moment, when specifically this new hardware stock will be released it has not been released and it does not appear that this will change. In fact, the retailer does not even mention notifying customers, but rather simply alerting customers through social media when inventory is in the air. Not only are the details scarce about when the stock will be released, but it is not clear whether everything will be released at once. If so, be prepared for site problems.

In addition, it appears that the stock will be limited to packages. In other words, if you plan to buy only the PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S or Nintendo Switch and just the hardware, this stock may not be for you.

What is also not disclosed is the amount of existing stock. The retailer notes that there will be a “limited number” of each piece of hardware, but that’s what it says every time.

Whatever happens, it is safe to bet that the stock will disappear in minutes. This was not just the case with every GameStop refill, but with every refill at each retailer. Not only is the demand for all these products extremely high – especially for the PS5 – but money changers and retailers are still stealing inventory with bots capable of placing thousands of orders in minutes. Although it appears that the money changers’ reign of terror may be coming to an end now, they are still all over the PS5 and Xbox Series X refueling. They shouldn’t be a problem for the Nintendo Switch, but demand is also high for this hardware, which is why it has been out of stock for weeks.

As noted, important details are missing before tomorrow’s refueling. If GameStop provides more information, we will be sure to update the story. In the meantime, for more gaming coverage, click here.
