South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and offensive coordinator / quarterback coach Marcus Satterfield have some quarterback offers for the 2022 recruiting class, and seem to be very fond of Tanner Bailey, a four-star QB from Gordo, Alabama .
Bailey is classified as the ninth professional-style quarterback in the class at 247Sports Composite. In addition to Gamecocks, he also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Oregon, Miami, Georgia Tech and Maryland.
“He’s very open,” said Gordo High School coach Ryan Lolley. “He wants to see where it fits best, where it fits. He will have great guidance from his parents.
“Your father played in college (Auburn). He will receive very good guidance on what he needs to do and, ultimately, what he wants to be. It is not necessarily who he is, but what is most appropriate, what will give to you the opportunity to play at a high level in a style that you want. ”
Lolley praised Bailey as a defender, leader and person. He believes that wherever he lands, it will be a success. And like many of the programs that Bailey is considering, he feels that the USC would be a good fit for him.
“Obviously, they are very excited about him,” said Lolley. “South Carolina is a great place. They have a lot of tradition and history, and people love it there. It’s a great school. I don’t think anyone goes wrong with that choice, for sure. I think anyone would be crazy to say that South Carolina is not a place you want to go to.
“For me, this is one of the best places to go. They will have the opportunity to compete for (SEC) East, and you know that if you compete for the East, it will end up helping you Playoff. I think they are one of the best teams from the East. I think it’s a very good place to go and play. It’s a great stage where fans love it. Ultimately, it will be the one that fits him best. “
Oregon is also an important factor and Bailey visited Eugene last week, something he can do on his own, without meeting with the coaches or entering the facility. The state of Mississippi also appears to be strong with Bailey at this point. Although Alabama has offered, Crimson Tide has just gotten a commitment from five-star QB Ty Simpson, so Tuscaloosa is probably not an option. Georgia also has a five-star commitment to Gunner Stockton.
Last season, Bailey went through 2,444 yards and 32 touchdowns, despite playing only six games due to a collarbone injury. He is also a highly regarded baseball player.

Bin-Wahad can play safely, corner and nickel. Last season, he recorded 24 tackles with three interceptions and eight deflections of the pass. He is classified as a three-star potential customer on 247Sports Composite and national security number 40 in the 2022 class.
