The South Carolina football team entered the field for the first time under the command of the first year coach Shane Beamer in the Saturday morning. It was the first of four times that a small part of the practice will be open to members of the media to get a glimpse of Gamecocks.

It was a very typical open session for Gamecocks, which allowed accredited members of the media to see stretches and some position exercises. There was a little bit of work by special teams, but mostly players with their own position groups and their coaches. The quarterbacks also worked with their receivers and offensive line for a short period of time.
Strength and conditioning trainer Luke Day, who was also making his spring training debut in his first year with the program, led the charge by providing the Gamecocks with plenty of energy in their morning training.
