Gamecocks list shortens due to opt-outs, injuries that go to the game Mizzou

COLOMBIA, SC – South Carolina lost another starting cornerback in Israel, Mukuamu, after he chose to leave the season, joining his defensive partner Jaycee Horn in preparation for the next NFL draft.

Interim coach Mike Bobo said on Tuesday that four players had dropped out since the school dismissed coach Will Muschamp on Sunday. Joining Mukuamu and Horn are safety RJ Roderick and striker Makius Scott.

Gamecocks (2-5) face Missouri (2-3) on Saturday night.

Mukuamu is a 1.80 m tall and 93 kg junior who was a second team selection from the Southeast Conference in 2019. He and Horn shared the leadership of the team with two interceptions each.

Horn announced his decision to quit on Monday.

Bobo, the offensive coordinator of the first year, was appointed to replace Muschamp. Bobo said defensive line holders Aaron Sterling and Brad Johnson are out this year due to injuries.
